Unfortunately though, most cases do not feature an architecture that is conducive to this kind of constant molestation. Fortunately for you though there is the Smilodon Case from Raidmax!
Never received a toolkit with my purchase, after 3 years I'm not really certain there was anything useful in it? Never had the, "I'm missing something here" feeling. All together, I would say the con's are mostly just minor annoyances with a few that are borderline bothersome. Recommended if you want a sturdy case. Pros: Great case, looks great with plenty of room.
Fold out side panels are very useful. Plenty of fan keep cool. Fan noise not too bad. Cons: Have had trouble making the front lights work right, probably pilot error. Fairly heavy but very rigid case, no flex at all. Overall Review: I used this case for first build and was so happy with that I bought another for a second build.
I have been shopping cases for a third build but will probably use this one since I haven't found better. Sold by: Newegg Shipped by Newegg. This item is currently out of stock and it may or may not be restocked. Out of Stock. Add To Wish List. Are you an E-Blast Insider?
Get Educated. The Smilodon case from Raidmax makes assembling a system easier than ever before. It has a modular, tool-less design that makes the initial build and future upgrades easy. Both side panels latch into place for easy access.
For the ultimate in convenience the right side panel has the motherboard tray completed with backplate attached. This lets you install the mobo and all your cards, then lock it into the case as a single unit. The external bays all use Clicklock technology, just slide the drive into the bay and lock it into place.
The hard drive rack is removable for easy installations and upgrades. Once you have everything assembled you need to make sure it stays cool. In addition to the fan on the W power supply Raidmax has loaded the case with plenty of additional fans. A mm fan is mounted on the front of the case to draw cool air in and blow it across the hard drives.
Side and rear mounted 80mm fans keep the air moving over all critical components. There is also an 80mm fan with blue LEDs that mounts to a support brace that holds your expansion cards steady and blows cool outside air over them.
Plus the tool-free design ensures quick assembly of other devices without the need for any tool, saving your precious time. An 80mm side fan with blue LEDs improves interior airflow and looks simply amazing too. Superior Expandability with 10 Drive Bays Featuring four 5. Cons: - Lots on fans on this case, but all of them are extremely obstructed - The design of the filter in front of the front mm fan is very poor; it blocks almost all airflow.
If the faceplate is shut there will be very nearly no airflow from that fan. The mixture of plastic on the side plate and metal mesh on the actual dirktooth bar holding the fan, effectively block all remaining airflow from this fan.
This makes it very noisy and reduces airflow considerably. This will cool your CPU a little bit, however, it will also bottleneck hot air that is trying to escape from your video card.
This top side intake hurts in the long run, because it traps hot air inside, heating up every component inside the case. Overall Review: If left in standard configuration, the inside of the case gets hot, more than 25 C 77 F above the ambient room temperature under moderate loads playing video games. I was able to get the internal case temperature to stay within C of ambient temperature while under moderate load by: - removing the metal mesh grid that obstructs the front fan while the door is open.
If you are planning on buying this case because it looks like it has good cooling, think again. A case with good cooling will probably have a fan on the top to remo. Pros: This case is a real champ. The first thing I noticed about it was its considerable weight.
The thing is built like a M1A1 Abrams The screwless design made fast work of mounting hard drives and dvd-roms. I can't say enough about how easy this case makes installation; I will never buy another case that doesn't have this fold-out design.
The amount of fans keeps it very cool and there is room to add more! I didn't find them to be as loud as one of the earlier reviewers mentioned.
The HD-light is in a strange spot not very visible. The magnets that keep the front panel closed seem a bit weak. As sturdy as this case already is, it would have been nice if the front panel had been metal as well. If your PSU has short cables it makes it difficult to open the motherboard panel to a flat position. Overall Review: Overall - the Pros of this case far outweigh the minor negatives I listed. And if, for whatever reason, this case happend to get destroyed by either taking a direct hit from an anti-tank missile or being at ground zero of a nuclear blast I'd be buying another.
Did I mention it glows blue? Pros: I had space issues with my previous case with a GTX This case gave me much more clearance and the front fan sucks cool air right to my video card. There are some issues with sata cable length to the cd rom when you drop the panel so plan for longer cables.
This case cools well and is better suited to hot video cards. The fans work well and the side window looks classy. Overall Review: The case is heavy but I wanted it that way. You might with larger cards have to reseat them. Horny Ang Moh March 13, at pm. Netster March 12, at pm. Netster March 11, at pm. Dear Julie, Thank you. You have a nice day too.
